Prof Aurangzeb appointed KMC dean.

PESHAWAR -- Prof Mahmud Aurangzeb, a laparoscopic surgeon, has been appointed dean of the Khyber Medical College for a period of five years.

Currently working as chief executive officer of Postgraduate Medical Institute Peshawar since October 28, he remained head of the department of surgery at Khyber Medical College and Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar from April 23 to May 27.

Being the pioneer of laparoscopic surgery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Prof Aurangzeb is also is in-charge of surgical 'A' ward at KTH, according to a press release.

His appointment was approved by the Board of Governors of KTH/KMC/Khyber College of Dentistry.

Prof Aurangzeb graduated from KMC in 985 and did FRCS from Royal College of Surgeons, England, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow, and Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
