Probe ordered into induction of court employee.

ISLAMABAD -- Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered an investigation into the induction of a low-grade employee in the lower judiciary without following the competitive process.

IHC Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani referred the matter to the member inspection team and asked him to inquire how a naib qasid was inducted in the sessions court without inviting applications from candidates through advertisements.

Documents presented before the IHC showed that Mr Ahmed was inducted on the vacant post reserved for special people on temporary basis last year.

Mr Ahmed, who was affected by poliomyelitis, after completion of the one year service filed a petition in the IHC seeking regularisation of his job.

His counsel Sardar Tariq Bashir adopted before the court that since a post of peon for special people was lying vacant in the lower judiciary, Mr Ahmed may be appointed on the post on a permanent basis.
