Probe begins into embezzlement of Mansehra schools funds.

MANSEHRA -- The anti-corruption establishment has launched an inquiry into the alleged embezzlement of parent-teacher association funds meant for the construction of rooms, boundary walls and lavatories in government schools across Mansehra district.

'We have launched the technical inspection of construction projects executed by the parent-teacher associations in Mansehra schools over the complaints of the funds embezzlement,' ACE circle head Nazeer Khan told reporters here on Wednesday.

ACE director Usman Zaman had ordered earlier this month the inspection of rooms, boundary walls and lavatories built in around 1,600 boys and girls schools across the district under the supervision of PTAs.

Mr Nazeer said embezzlement had been found in the funds of Government Primary School Bala Akbar Khan and Government Girls Middle School Kotli Pain leading to the arrest of the respective head teachers and PTA chairmen.
