President Alvi asks Federal Population Task Force to intensify efforts to achieve objectives.

ISLAMABAD -- President Dr. Arif Alvi has asked the Federal Population Task Force to intensify efforts to achieve the objectives of the Task Force. Expressing his concern over increasing population, the President emphasised that the current pace of population growth needed to be checked by creating awareness among people about its social and economic implications.

He stated this during a meeting with Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health, Dr. Zafar Mirza, who called on him, at Awan-e Sadr on Friday. The meeting reviewed the progress of the previous two meetings of Task Force. It was decided to convene the third meeting at the earliest so as to materialise the goals of Task Force. The meeting noted that Covid-19 pandemic had affected every sector of life, particularly health, and diseases like Polio and Tuberculosis have witnessed a surge due to the fact the government's focus is currently on Pandemic leaving little resources...
