PPP to fully participate in PDM Islamabad protest.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan People's Party will fully participate in the protest of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), outside the Election Commission of Pakistan on January 19, a senior leader said.

The opposition alliance has made an announcement to protest outside ECP office on January 19 against the ruling Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf's 'foreign funding.' PPP Secretary General Nayyar Bokhari said that the party was part of the PDM and will participate in the demonstration. In a statement after a PPP meeting here, Bokhari said the protest against the 'foreign funding' of the PTI will be historic.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has already allowed PDM's planned protest in front of the ECP and also directed Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed not to create any hurdle. However, the PM has issued orders to take action against those violating the law.

There were reports that PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari may not attend the PDM show due to his engagements. Bilawal is scheduled to visit Sukkur on January 18 and Umerkot on January 19 to address gatherings arranged by party workers.

Yesterday, PPP leader Nafisa Shah said that PTI had admitted that it had been receiving foreign funding from shady donors.

'The PTI statement about foreign funding in the election commission of Pakistan is admission of receiving illegal foreign funding,' she said.

Nafisa Shah said that PTI narrative was just a joke that it had received these illegal funding through its agents and 'PTI is not responsible...
