PPP secures seven senate seats from Sindh, PTI secures 10 seats from KP.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has secured seven out of 11 senate seats from Sindh. Meanwhile Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Muthahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) secured two seats each from Sindh Assembly. Meanwhile PTI secured 10 out of 12 senate seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly. Jamiat Ulema-e-Isam-Fazl (JUI-F) and Awami National Party secured one seat each from KP assembly. PPP, PML-N and Jamaat-e-Islami candidates could not win any seat from KP assembly. From Balochistan Assembly Balochistan Awami Party and its allies secured eight out of 12 seats; meanwhile Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) parties succeeded to secure four seats from Balochistan.

From Islamabad biggest upset was seen as Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) candidate Makhdoom Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has won the general senate seat from Islamabad while securing 169 votes.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Finance Minister Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh has secured 164 votes. Seven votes were rejected. Total 340 votes were casted.

Meanwhile PTI candidate Fauzia Arshad won the women seat from Islamabad while securing 174 votes. Meanwhile PDM candidate Farzana Kausar secured 161 voted. Five votes were rejected. Total 340 votes were polled.

Meanwhile Makhdoom Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani and Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh were present in the assembly hall. After the announcement of the result Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh congratulated Makhdoom Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani on his win.

In Sindh Assembly 167 vote were cast out of 168 for the Senate Election. PPP candidate Palwasha Khan and MQM-Pakistan Khalida Tayyib won the seat of women.

While Pakistan Peoples Party Shery Rehman, Taj Haider, Jam Mahtab Dahr and Saleem Mandwiwala also won the general seat. MQM-Pakistan candidate Faisal Sabzwari also won the seat of general.

Pakistan People's Party Farooq Hamid Naik secured the seat of technocrat while PTI Saif Ullah Abro and Muhammad Faisal Vawda also won their seats.

Meanwhile from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Gurdeep Singh of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf has won the minority seat of Senate from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by securing 103 votes. His rival Ranjeet Singh of JUI(F) secured 25 votes.

On women seats, Sania Nishtar and Falak Naz of PTI won both their Women seats of Senate from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Sania Nishtar got 56 while Falak Naz clinched 51 votes.
