PPP leader suggests flour depot system.

LAHORE -- A PPP leader has demanded the revival of the flour depot system of the 1970s as a measure to check the flour price hike.

'The common man will remain distressed because of increasing flour prices until the re-introduction of the flour depot system in the country,' PPP acting Punjab President Rana Farooq Saeed said at a cake-cutting ceremony held here on Thursday to mark the 95th birth anniversary of party's founder chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

'Flour millers are the biggest robbers in the country, and in such a situation, the depot system is a solution to inflation otherwise these mafias will devour the masses.'

Flanked by Shehzad Cheema, Faisal Mir, Mian Ayub, Altaf Qureshi and Faiza Malik, he said the PPP became popular among the masses soon after its inception due to its ideology and policies.
