PPP expressed concern on acquittal of alleged accused in Sahiwal tragedy.

Islamabad -- The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) expresses grave concern on recent acquittal of all alleged accused in the Sahiwal tragedy by ATC Court giving them benefit of doubt and demands justice be done for the surviving children and seen to be done for Pakistani society generally.

This is a far bigger tragedy than the incident and raises questions on the state of justice system in the country. Very sadly, the blanket acquittals are a horrifying drop scene of massacre of a Pakistani family, the father Mohammad Khalil, the mother Nabeela, their teenage daughter Areeba in front of her 3 other siblings. Besides them Zeeshan who the accused CTD squad claimed was a terrorist was also killed.

While raising questions on the so called speedy justice of the anti terrorism courts which surprisingly led to acquittals of all the CTD accused, PPP holds the government equally responsible in the way this case was dealt with from the beginning to its final conclusion.
