PPP contesting local govt polls in Karachi in all seriousness: Saeed Ghani.

KARACHI -- The Pakistan People's Party is going to contest the upcoming local government elections in Karachi in all seriousness as the next mayor of the city will be an activist of the PPP. This was stated by Sindh Labour and Human Resources Minister, Saeed Ghani, who is also PPP Karachi President while speaking at a press conference here at the Sindh Assembly building on Friday. Saeed Ghani said the PPP had fielded its candidates to contest the local government elections in Karachi on January 15 from all areas of the city except just two union committees. He announced that PPP Karachi Division on Sunday, January 8, would take out a rally from Bilawal House to Star Gate on Sharea Faisal to be attended by the candidates, activists, and supporters of the party in large numbers. The PPP through its upcoming rally would demonstrate its mass popularity in the city. He said that district chapters of the PPP in Karachi would also take out rallies and hold public meetings on a daily basis in different UCs in the run-up to the local government polls. He told media persons that earlier in the day a meeting of the PPP Karachi Division had been held that finalised the strategy of the party to contest the local government polls.
