RAWALPINDI -- A policeman was booked for allegedly quarrelling with two lawyers, illegally detaining and threatening them in Sadiqabad on Monday.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Zafarullah, deployed at a police checkpoint in Dhoke Kashmirian Chowk, stopped a truck driver and asked him to move his vehicle away from the road. The driver was arguing with the ASI when two lawyers intervened to settle the issue.

According to the first information report (FIR) registered against the ASI, Station House Officer Sadiqabad Tahir Ahmed Reham said he watched a viral video of the incident on social media.

'The ASI and driver were quarrelling when two persons in lawyers' clothes intervened and started brawling with the ASI. One of the lawyers pushed the ASI away; in retaliation, the ASI slapped and threatened him, after pulling out his pistol,' he said.
