'Police torture' leaves man with fractured leg.

LAHORE -- A man fractured his leg in allegedly the second incident of police torture in as many days in the provincial capital.

Policemen on Tuesday subjected a young man to severe torture in Ghaziabad, allegedly fracturing his leg.

Family members told the media that Sohail was trying to reconcile two opposing parties of the area when a police team, headed by Sub-Inspector Roman Ali, took him to the police station where they subjected him to severe torture.

The police high-ups suspended moharrar of the Ghaziabad police station, holding him responsible for the incident.

A senior police official claimed that Sohail was injured during a clash with the moharrar. Action was taken against him in light of an inquiry report, he said, adding that the injured man was shifted to hospital where his condition was stable.
