Police tasked with arresting POs, court absconders.

LAHORE -- Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore DIG Bilal Siddique Kamyana has tasked the police officers with arresting target offenders (TOs), proclaimed offenders (POs) and court absconders (CAs) to improve conviction rate in courts.

Chairing an anti-crime review meeting here on Wednesday, he said the crime prevention was only possible with the arrest of the criminals.

Lahore DIG Operations retired Capt Suhail Chaudhry, DIG Investigation Kamran Adil, SSPs of investigation and operations, all the divisional SPs of operations and investigation wings, CIA SP Asim Iftikhar and other respective officials attended the meeting.

On the occasion, the DIGs briefed the CCPO about the last two-month performance of both operations and investigation wings.

The meeting also reviewed crime control, law and order situation, arrangements for peaceful by-elections and implementation of code of conduct of Election Commission of Pakistan during the election campaign by the candidates and their supporters, progress in completion of under-investigation pending cases, completion of targets for arresting the POs, CAs and other notorious criminals.
