Police inspector dies of Covid-19.

RAWALPINDI -- Coronavirus claimed life of a senior inspector of Rawalpindi police on Monday night Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU).

The deceased had recently been promoted to the rank of inspector and was waiting for posting. He left behind a widow, three sons and three daughters. His body was shifted to his native town Hazro and later laid to rest as per Covid-19 protocol.

City Police Officer Ahsan Younis and Chief Traffic Officer Syed Ali Akbar supervised the shifting of the body to his native town. They also gave financial assistance to his family on the directive of Inspector General of Police Shoaib Dastagir.

The number of police officers/officials infected with the coronavirus has surged to 90 in the Rawalpindi division with one death.

Of the 90 infected with the virus, 65 police officials belonged to Rawalpindi district, 11 to Attock, 10 to Jhelum, one to Chakwal and...
