Police high alert to thwart unrest, panic.

RAWALPINDI -- Rawalpindi police is alert and prepared to restrict unrest and panic on the directions of competent authorities, says City Police Officer, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Faisal Rana.

The protection of lives and property of people had been ensured through the authority of law within the ambit of law, the decision of enforcement of law will be taken by the competent authority and each official of Rawalpindi police will implement the same in the district, the CPO expressed these views during a meeting held regarding the current situation.

Faisal Rana said the joint strategy of Rawalpindi police, Islamabad police and other law enforcement agencies had not only been devised but each official of Rawalpindi police had been briefed in this regard.

It was the prime responsibility and the first priority of police to maintain the authority and rule of law and establish the writ of the state.
