Police find US blogger's allegations suspicious.

ISLAMABAD -- The capital police have found the allegations levelled by an American blogger against a former prime minister and an ex-interior minister suspicious and said these needed to be investigated, Dawn has learnt.

Cynthia D. Ritchie had lodged a complaint with the Secretariat Police Station for registration of a case against Yousuf Raza Gilani and Rehman Malik of the Pakistan Peoples Party for intimidating, harassing, threatening and defaming her on social media.

An officer told Dawn on condition of anonymity that in response to the complaint, the police prepared a report stating that contents of the complaint were found to be suspicious and needed to be investigated. However, he said, the complaint was registered in daily diary (Roznamcha) for further legal proceedings to establish the facts.
