Police-chamber liaison committee to be set up.

RAWALPINDI -- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Amir Zulfiqar Khan on Friday stressed the need for close cooperation with the business community as it played an important role in running the country's economy.

He said to improve close liaison and cooperation with the police, a chamber-police coordination committee would be established.

The Punjab IG was talking to a delegation of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) at the Police Lines on Friday.

IGP Khan also issued instructions to Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Mahmood Satti and City Police Officer Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari regarding the formation of the police-chamber liaison committee.

The chamber delegation included RCCI President Saqib Rafiq, Group Leader Sohail Altaf, Senior Vice President Mohammad Hamza Sarosh and Vice President Faisal Shehzad.

Former presidents Asad Mashhadi, Raja Amer Iqbal, Saboor Malik, Nasir Mirza and Nadeem Rauf were also present on the occasion.
