PM Imran to approve textile policy after Davos trip.

LAHORE -- Prime Minister Imran Khan will approve the textile policy on his return from Davos visit, sources in the Ministry of Commerce and Prime Minister Secretariat confirmed Profit on Saturday. PM Imran Khan is scheduled to visit Switzerland on a three-day visit to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) on January 21 where on the sidelines of the event, he would also meet foreign dignitaries to invite foreign investors to grab the investment opportunities Pakistan is currently offering. On his return from Davos the premier would approve the long term textile policy, a senior official at the MoC told this scribe. It would be a huge breakthrough for the textile and exports sector of Pakistan and it will help in achieving the target of $50 billion exports by 2030, he added. According to sources, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood had a 3-hour long detailed meeting with the officials of Task Force on Textile in Lahore on Friday last. Chairman of Task Force on Textile Ahsan Bashir, members of the textile force including Hamid Zaman, Aamir Fayyaz and Khurram Mukhtar and others attended the meeting with the adviser.
