PM discusses economic and political situation with President Alvi.

ISLAMABAD -- Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz sharif on Wednesday met President Arif Alvi at Awan-e-Saddar (President House) to discuss evolving economic and political issues in the country.

The meeting took place in very crucial time when the PTI-PML-N have clash over the removal of Governor Punjab Umer Sarfaraz Cheema.

Umer Sarfaraz has not only refused to administer the Oath of new elected Chief Minister Hamza but also claimed that the Punjab Assembly secretary's report, the high court's instructions and 'the facts presented' to him raised questions about the validity of the chief minister's election.

Since then Cheema was removed from office by federal government.

However, he claimed in the press conference on Sunday that Prime Minister does not have the authority to remove the governor.
