PM approves to form central database to curtail smuggling in border areas of Balochistan, KP.

ISLAMABAD -- Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved to form a central database to curtail smuggling in border areas of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This was stated by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, DrFirdousAshiqAwan at a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday.

She said a high-level meeting was held in Islamabad with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair to devise mechanism to discourage smuggling and illegal trade.

The Special Assistant said central database will be formed in coordination with customs intelligence, Federal Board of Revenue, Federal Investigation Agency, Intelligence Bureau and other intelligence agencies.

She said the meeting decided to form Customs Authority and introduction of automation.
