Plea seeking Buzdar`s disqualification returned.

LAHORE -- The Lahore High Court registrar`s office has returned a petition, with certain objections, seel(ing disqualification of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar for alleged concealment of assets in nomination papers he had submitted before Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) during the 2018 general election.

The office put first objections to the petition on the basis of territorial jurisdiction of the LHC principal seat. It noted that Mr Buzdar won election from PP-286, Taunsa Sharif, Dera Ghazi Khan, which falls within the territorial jurisdiction of the Multan bench.

Therefore, the petitioner should file the plea at the Multan bench, said the office in addition to objection to making chief minister as respondent in the petition as the chief executive of a province enjoys...
