Plea against LG poll schedule adjourned till today.

KARACHI -- The Sindh High Court on Wednesday asked the provincial government about its stance on a petition filed by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan questioning the quorum of the Election Commission at the time of announcement of schedule for the local government elections.

When a two-judge bench headed by Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kalhoro took up an application seeking urgent hearing of the main petition, the lawyer for petitioners argued that the notifications about LG polls in Sindh were issued without complete quorum of the ECP.

Justice Kalhoro remarked that the LG polls were being held in the light of the apex court's judgement and its first phase had already been completed.
