Plea against changes to NAB law returned due to winter vacation.

LAHORE -- The Lahore High Court registrar office on Monday told a lawyer that his petition challenging amendments to National Accountability Ordinance 1999 could not be fixed due to winter vacation.

The office returned the petition to Advocate Ishtiaq A Chaudhry who will now file the same after Jan 8, 2020. During vacation, the court entertains cases of urgent nature only including stay matters and bail petitions.

In his petition, the lawyer submitted that the NAB had been chained by joining hands with the parliamentarians, civil administration and the business community. He argued that Article 25(1) of the Constitution declared that all citizens were equal before the law and they were entitled to equal protection of law.
