Plan ready to check price hike: CM's aide.

TAXILA -- Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister Malik Abrar Ahmed said a comprehensive plan of action had been chalked out to curb price hike and hoarding.

He stated this while chairing a meeting at the office of the deputy commissioner Attock on Saturday. The meeting was called to check and implement prices fixed by the government.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zulqarnain, officials from the district administration, revenue, food and other departments were also present.

Mr Ahmed said the government was taking concrete steps to ensure availability of flour to consumers at the controlled rate and strict action was being taken against hoarders and profiteers.

The district administration has decided to impose heavy fines on mills for non-compliance with the orders of the government regarding provision of flour at subsidised rates.

He asked the relevant authorities to continue measures to control the smuggling of wheat and fertilizer and focus on monitoring of prices of kitchen items on a daily bases. The assistant commissioners, price control...
