Pilac celebrates FM95's anniversary.

LAHORE -- The Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture (Pilac) and FM95 Punjab Rung, the Punjabi Radio channel, held an event at the Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall in connection with World Radio Day on Thursday.

A good number of audience, comprising artistes, intellectuals, RJs and people from various walks of life, attended the evening, which also marked of 13 years of FM95 Punjab Rung, the first Punjabi Radio channel of the country.

The evening was spiced up with the instrumental music performances by a FC college student, Jausahva, who played a number of popular film songs compositions on saxophone. For his magnificent performance on saxophone, the student earned a thunderous round of applause from the audience. The evening also had an impressive cake cutting ceremony to celebrate the 13 years of FM95 channel and that of World Radio Day.

The cake was cut together by Pilac Director General Saman Rai, Lahore Arts Council Executive Director Ather Ali Khan, artistes, intellectuals and distinguished guests.

Speaking on the occasion, veteran actor and broadcaster Rashid Mehmood held FM95 Punjab Rung channel and Pilac in high esteem for a coordinated effort for promotion of Punjabi language and literature. Sharing...
