Pharmacy council withdraws official's appointment.

ISLAMABAD -- The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) has decided to withdraw the appointment of an assistant secretary on an executive cadre post on a daily wage basis.

At the 52nd meeting of the PCP held on November 2 with its President Dr Shabana Saleem in the chair, Vice President (VP) Dr Jamshaid Ali Khan shared an office order regarding the appointment of Sibghat Mansoor Rana.

'The PCP showed grave concerns over the issuance of such an order. On asking the VP about showing any such record, he stated that no such record is found available in the PCP office,' according to minutes of the meeting available with Dawn.

Members of the PCP were of the opinion that the appointment was sheer violation of the law and policy as even the position did not exist. Moreover, they stated that a person of an executive cadre could not be hired on daily wage.
