PHA plants saplings at NPC, Camp Office Rwp under Clean and Green Pakistan campaign.

RAWALPINDI -- The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi has planted saplings at National Press Club (NPC), Camp Office Rawalpindi under ongoing Clean and Green Pakistan campaign.

Chairman PHA, Asif Mahmood and Chairman, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on the occasion said that PHA and RDA were striving to make the city environment clean and green.

They said that a large number of saplings were planted under the campaign at schools, colleges, parks, greenbelts, graveyards and other areas to enhance greenery.

PHA chairman said, the PHA's Plantation and Cleanliness drives were launched here to achieve targets set for Prime Minister's 'Clean and Green Pakistan' Program which was in full swing and saplings of different species were being planted in different areas of the city.

He said that a week-long special cleanliness campaign was also launched under the program.

He informed that the students, traders, social and political leaders and civil society members were also participating in the campaign.

The PHA was providing plants free of cost to the citizens during the spring plantation campaign. Maximum saplings would be planted in different areas of the city, he added.

The students and civil society members were planting saplings and seeds in different areas of the city and ensuring their care as well, adding, they had also started planting trees in the hilly areas around the city.

Efforts were also being made during the campaign to sensitize the people to come forward and participate in the plantation campaign, he said.

The RDA Chairman said that in an effort to make environmental conditions better, the RDA had directed all private housing societies within its jurisdiction to play role to make the plantation campaign a success.
