PFSA seeks land for lab, crime scene unit in Gujrat division.

GUJRAT -- The Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) has sought a piece of land to establish a laboratory and a crime scene unit in the newly-established Gujrat division.

The facility will be a collection centre for the four districts of the division -- Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Wazirabad, says a senior official.

He said here on Tuesday that the PFSA had conveyed to the authorities in the land revenue department to get a piece of land measuring at least 6 to 8 kanal preferably within the proposed site for the establishment of divisional complex at Machiana village.

The divisional administration has already identified a huge chunk of land measuring 111 acres including 90-acre state land, and Rs8.8 billion had been approved by the Punjab government for the construction of the first phase of the building and other infrastructure at the site.

It is learnt that senior officials of the PFSA had paid an inspection visit of various sites for establishing its lab and offices and found the proposed site for the divisional complex suitable.
