PFA's 2019 performance.

LAHORE -- The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has released its operations and technical wings annual performance report for 2019.

It says 5,013 food businesses were closed down while 27,259 outlets were penalised with hefty fines over violations of food laws, says a press release.

The PFA examined 8,897 food samples in its modern food labs and found 3,996 (44.9 per cent) samples unfit for human consumption.
