PEW lauds army's 'exceptional role' during recent crisis.

ISLAMABAD -- The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Wednesday said Army played a very positive role during the recent political and constitutional crisis.

In a statement, PEW showered praise upon Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa for 'saving the country from tremendous political instability'.

'The judiciary also took timely action and fulfilled the requirements of justice which saved the country from anarchy,' said Dr. Murtaza Mughal, President of PEW.

During the crisis, some elements were pushing the country towards martial law but their conspiracy was foiled, he added.

Dr Murtaza Mughal said that Gen. Bajwa has always taken decisions in accordance with the national interests and in the way he tackled the recent crisis he proved his mettle.
