Pesco links smooth supply to regular bill payment.

SHANGLA -- Peshawar Electric Supply Company's general manager operations Khalid Hussain Lara has urged the consumers of Shangla, Kohistan, Torghar and Battagram to pay their arrears and bills regularly to save the province's sole company from loss.

He was addressing a meeting of stakeholders of Bisham and Kohistan held at the sub-divisional office, Bisham, here the other day.

Superintendent engineer, Pesco Swat, Khalid Khan, executive engineer Swat circle-II Rehmat Elahi and Bisham SDO Mohammad Shakeel were also present on the occasion besides the elders of Bisham tehsil and Kohistan areas.

The local people raised their electricity-related issues and urged the officials to resolve them.

Ikram Shah, a resident, said they had been spending a big amount of money on taking faulty transformers to Chakdara for repair for which they collected the amount at local level.

He said the Pesco's Bisham subdivision should be tasked with resolving the issues of consumers in Shangla Bisham only.
