People's confidence in PTI govt growing, says Mahmood.

SWABI -- Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser inaugurated several projects, including expansion of Swabi-Mardan road, here on Friday.

Speaking at a gathering held to inaugurate the projects, the chief minister said that the previous provincial government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had delivered according to the people's expectations and that was why they voted the party to power again.

He said that there was no place for corrupt rulers in the country. Referring to JUI-F's Islamabad sit-in, he said that the chapter of Maulana (Fazlur Rehman) had been closed. He said that the power hungry leaders were rejected by the people in 2018 elections.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Qaiser said that the government was giving top priority to bringing prices of essential commodities down. 'We have adopted a mechanism which would result in drop in the prices of essential commodities,' he claimed.

He criticised the opposition parties for unleashing what he called a propaganda campaign against the government. He said that the previous governments had failed to give attention to strengthening of the country's economy.

The officials of communication and works department said that the project for expansion of 47-kilomtre Swabi-Mardan road would cost Rs10 billion and its two lanes would be enough to absorb the increasing traffic and facilitate transportation of goods.
