PDM candidate Makhdoom Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani wins general senate seat from Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) candidate Makhdoom Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has won the general senate seat from Islamabad while securing 169 votes.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Finance Minister Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh has secured 164 votes. Seven votes were rejected. Total 340 votes were casted.

Meanwhile PTI candidate Fauzia Arshad won the women seat from Islamabad while securing 174 votes. Meanwhile PDM candidate Farzana Kausar secured 161 voted. Five votes were rejected. Total 340 votes were polled.

Meanwhile Makhdoom Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani and Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh were present in the assembly hall. After the announcement of the result Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh congratulated Makhdoom Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani on his win.
