PDM aggrieved over flop show of resignations: Dr Firdous.

LAHORE -- Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that PDM is aggrieved over the flop show of resignations and the long march. Now everyone in the PDM is playing their own trumpet. There is a rift between the Princess, Prince and Maulana.

She said this gang of hypocrites will never resign. Thieves and looters cannot take out long march.

She said these people will contest by-elections and participate in Senate elections as well.

She said that people are enjoying the jokes of political clowns. PDM elements should be ashamed of themselves.

The negative politics of those who scored political points on corona have come to its logical end. She said that 535 new corona cases have been reported during the last 24 hours which took the total number to 14,84, 88 in Punjab.

Whereas, 17 patients died, 14,390 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours. She said that 26,83,41 tests have so far been conducted in Punjab.

- vows to resolve issues of journalists on priority basis

Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has reiterated commitment to resolve longstanding issues and problems of journalists on priority basis.

'Media is a mirror of the society that highlights problems. Voice of journalists is voice of the people', she said while addressing Federal Executive Council of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) at Lahore Press Club on Saturday.

Dr Firdous said the Punjab government provided financial assistance to journalists tested positive for COVID-19. She said the government was bringing a new media policy in which views of the journalists will be taken into consideration. The proposal to construct media tower and training academy for the journalists will be presented in the next ADP, she said. She said the government and journalists were two wheels of a car that provide guidance and assistance to each other in the journey of public welfare. While the government is serious in resolving the problems of media, journalists should also acknowledge and promote government's point of view, she said.

SACM said the PTI government was ensuring freedom of expression and journalists have the right to say or write whatever they want in the public-interest.
