LAHORE -- The Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) on Tuesday called off its indefinite strike after an anti-terrorism court granted bail to 25 more lawyers arrested for attack on the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).
Announcing a reserved verdict, Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta allowed the bail petitions filed by the lawyers, subject to furnishing of surety bonds of Rs100,000 each. Previously, the court had released 11 lawyers on bail.
Meanwhile, the court extended interim pre-arrest bail of Hassaan Niazi, the nephew of Prime Minister Imran Khan, till Jan 2.
