Panel to recommend posting of commissioners, DCs.

PESHAWAR -- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has planned to form a committee to recommend officers for posting as commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province.

The KP Civil Administration (Good Governance and Public Sector Delivery) Bill, 2019, under which the committee is to be formed, will be placed before the cabinet today (Tuesday) for approval.

The proposed bill said the home department will notify a provincial placement committee comprising senior officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service and Provincial Management Service.

The committee will propose a panel of suitable officers from among the officers of service, against the posts of commissioner and deputy commissioner to the chief secretary, who will send three names in the order of priority to the chief minister for appropriate orders.

Cabinet to take up bill in this respect today

The bill also empowers the chief minister to form committees for the purposes of good governance, effective regulation, efficient service delivery, public welfare and better coordination among various public agencies at provincial, divisional and district levels.

It said every deputy commissioner would set up a complaint management cell in own district to inquire, coordinate and oversee the resolution of public complaints.
