Mohammad Abbas bowled brilliantly to help Pakistan reduce Sri Lanka to 64-3 at stumps on Day 1 of the second Test at National Stadium Karachi.

A lot of drama created by Pakistani bowlers on a pitch that offered much to the pacers. Abbas bagged two wickets for 18 runs.

Shaheen Shah Afridi bagged the first wicket to start the party as he removed Sri Lanka's opener, Oshida Fernando, for 28. The right-handed opener walked off after scoring just 4.

Abbas removed skipper Dimuth Karunratne (25) and Kusal Mendis (13) to put pressure on the visitors.

Earlier, Lasith Embuldeniya (4-71) and Lahiru Kumara (4-49) helped Sri Lanka destroy the batting line of the home side Pakistan for 191 on Day 1 of the second Test at National Stadium Karachi on Thursday.

From the very start, Pakistan faced immense difficulties to get off the mark. Openers Shan Masood and Azhar Ali walked off for the team's total score of 10. Masood made5 runs while Azhar departed for naught.

Babar Azam (60) and Abid Ali (38) scored 55 runs together for the third wicket. Asad Shafiq remained the highest scorer for 68 runs.
