Pakistan, Nigeria emphasize enhanced bilateral cooperation.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan and Nigeria Thursday emphasized the need for increasing cooperation in various fields for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

The bilateral ties were discussed during a meeting between the visiting Nigerian Defence delegation, led by General Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff Nigerian Armed Forces, and President Dr Arif Alvi here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Both sides reiterated the desire to deepen cooperation in the areas of defence and counter-terrorism.

Welcoming the delegation, the president said Pakistan greatly valued its relations with Nigeria and was keen to have meaningful defence ties with it.

He appreciated the participation of the Nigerian Armed Forces representatives in the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar.
