Pakistan Development Forum to promote policy dialogues.

PESHAWAR -- The Institute of Management Sciences' Alumni Association has launched the Pakistan Development Forum as a permanent platform to engage national leadership and stakeholders in policy dialogues about state, society, economy and environment.

Parliamentarians, bureaucrats, academicians and civil society leaders attended the event and highlighted the country's developmental challenges.

According to a statement issued here on Friday, the forum, which was launched with the support of the European Union and Mustehkam Parliamaan, is an umbrella to exchange ideas about the forces that either hold back progress or has the potential to unleash new hopes and pathways for prosperity.

Addressing the inaugural dialogue, Pakistan Dialogue 2023, the chief guest of the ceremony, adviser to the chief minister on finance Himayatullah Khan said he hoped that the forum would increase interaction between political leadership, businesses, thought leaders and practitioners to generate concrete policy proposals to assign substantive meanings to Pakistan's development agenda.

He urged the founders of the forum to pay attention to the dynamics of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's economy.

The forum will operate under four major overarching themes including fair economy, state and governance, climate change and tech and innovation.
