At a time when the United States is looking to maintain a counterterrorism infrastructure in the region following its withdrawal from Afghanistan, Pakistan has refused to host US bases on its soil. In an interview with Axios HBO, Prime Minister Imran Khan categorically stated that he would not allow the US to use Pakistan as a base for its Afghan operations. A report titled body count revealed that in one decade of war on terror Pakistan lost nearly one hundred thousand people in the US war on terror.
