ISLAMABAD -- One day Sino-Pak Symposium on 'Genomic Selection for ProductivityEnhancement of Crops (Rice, Wheat, Sugarcane and Cotton) was organized by NationalInstitute of Genomics and Advanced Biotechnology (NIGAB) at National AgriculturalResearch Centre (NARC) Islamabad on 12 th December, 2019. Eminent Scientists led byProf. Dr. Zhikang Li, Chief Scientist CAAS, Founder of GSR, PR China shared their research experiences on news breeding technologies for crop improvements. Syed Fakhar Imam, prominent Politician, Dr. Muhammad HashimPopalzai, Federal Secretary for M/o NFS and amp;R,Dr. Muhammad Azeem Khan Chairman, PARC, Dr. Muhammad Ali, DG, NARC and otherprominent scientists participated and highlighted the importance of the event.The experts made communications and discussions on related aspects, such asgermplasm, transgenic against insect and herbicide, transformation technology as well asthe mechanized planting.
