PAJCCI urges reducing dependence on the single tracking company to ease the cost of doing business across borders.

KARACHI -- The procedural hindrances, slow processing across border, limited working days at Pak-Afghan border amid COVID 19 has caused a significant backlog that not only led to deterioration of consignments of perishable items but also enhanced distress of businesses involved due to increasing cost of doing business. Despite agreement, border agents have reported that not even 100 trucks are passing cross-border on a daily basis which is further exacerbating the situation. To make the matters worse, the only company responsible for issuance of trackers has shown its inability in making the tracking equipment available readily and also the rates are highly fluctuating making it disturbing for the businesses involved.

PAJCCI members across the border have been raising hue and cry, keeping that in context Chairman PAJCCI, Zubair Motiwala urged honourable H.E. Prime Minister Pakistan, Imran Khan to intervene on an immediate basis to save the businesses from incurring significant losses which have also resulted in loss of confidence across the border. Motiwala stated that the agitation shown by entities involved is justified and despite communication the tracking company, which has a monopoly in this segment, does not pay any heed to the misery of traders.
