PAFDA project's cost increased to Rs3bn in four years: CM.

LAHORE -- Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz has said the cost of the Punjab Agriculture, Food and Drug Authority (PAFDA) project has increased up to Rs3 billion during the last four years because of negligence, incompetence and hatred of the previous government.

According to a handout, the chief minister said this during a visit to the PAFDA project offices at Thokar Niaz Beg here on Tuesday.

He visited different floors, reviewed the work on the project and expressing displeasure over the slow pace directed the officials concerned to start three shifts for early completion of the project.

Mr Hamza said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had laid the foundation of this modern and important project during his tenure as Punjab chief minister, but those who came into power later postponed the project on the basis of 'incompetence and hatred'.

The project was launched in December 2017 and was to be completed in March 2019 as per the plan.
