PAC sub-committee fails to meet due to lack of quorum.

ISLAMABAD -- A sub-committee of the public accounts committee on Monday could not hold its meeting due to lack of quorum and it was cancelled without even initiating of the proceedings.

The meeting of the subcommittee was scheduled at 11:00 AM in the Parliament House to discuss the audit objections related to the Ministry of Science and Technology; however except its Convener Munaza Hassan, not even a single member could reach the venue.

Unfortunately, the high level officers of the Ministry of Science and Technology and its attached departments, representatives of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) and senior officials were present in the meeting but public representatives, who are supposed to do accountability were unavailable.

The PAC secretariat staff contacted some of the members but nobody was available to attend the meeting and resultantly, the convener of the committee announced to cancel the meeting.
