PA speaker praises better policing.

ABBOTTABAD -- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani on Saturday praised the province's police for protecting public life and property by adopting modern policing techniques.

He was addressing a seminar organised by the police at Jalal Baba Auditorium here, where police officials from Hazara range, district and divisional administration, civil society activists, transporters and students were in attendance.

Mr Ghani said the KP police were discharging duties in a professional manner in line with the prime minister's vision.

'The KP police have set good examples for the police force of other provinces, especially in the handling of explosives. Their behaviour has totally changed from what it used to be showing their progress. They have set examples of bravery by rendering lives for the people's protection,' he said.

The speaker hailed a ban on underage driving and petrol sale without helmets.

Earlier, commissioner of Hazara division Zaheerul Islam praised the region's police for following people-friendly policies.

'The Hazara police have become the most effective police force in the province,' he said.
