Owners of five illegal housing schemes booked.

SAHIWAL -- The owners of five illegal housing societies have been booked for not getting clearance from the authorities concerned and selling plots without getting no objection certificates (NOCs) from the metropolitan corporation (MC).

Khalid Zia, the enforcement officer of the MC, told Dawn there were public complaints that the owners of Bashir Colony and some housing societies at Chak 82/6-R were selling plots to the customers without paying commercial fees or getting the NOCs.

The commissioner, who held the charge of the MC administrator also, asked the corporation staff to investigate the matter.

After the investigation, the owners of five illegal housing schemes were booked in cases registered with police stations of Fateh Sher and Ghala Mandi.

The suspects included Muhammad Maqsood, Muhammad Hanif, Chaudhry Kashif, Ihsan Chaudhry, Muhammad Amin, Nadeem Farooq, Mahar Raza and Muhammad Yasin.
