Over 500 polio refusal cases covered in Bannu.

LAKKI MARWAT -- A special anti-polio drive covered over 500 polio refusal cases in Bannu, an official claimed on Monday.

Talking to Dawn on phone, he said hundreds of refusal cases were reported from different localities during the polio eradication campaign, which concluded on Monday.

'The parents had refused to immunise their children against the crippling disease when vaccinators reached their houses,' he maintained.

The official said the matter was brought into the notice of deputy commissioner Aun Haidar Gondal, who tasked relevant officials with meeting the reluctant parents and pursuing them on vaccination of their children.
