Over 40 held for organising dog fight.

HARIPUR -- The local police on Sunday arrested 44 people, including the organisers and owners of dogs, for organising, facilitating, and participating in a dog fight here.

On a tip-off, a police contingent raided the venue in Kailag village and arrested 44 persons, including two organisers identified as Mumraiz Khan and Waqar Khan, and the spectators, according to a statement issued from the office of Hazara division police chief Qazi Jamilur Rehman.

It said the dog fight had been banned.

The accused were charged under sections 188 of CrPC and 6 of the Gambling Act. The police also seized five vehicles, a motorcycle, a sound system, and five dogs.
