Over 2,500 enrolled as registration for city marathon continues.

KARACHI -- Over 2,500 runners have so far got registered to participate in the 4th Karachi Commissioner Marathon scheduled to be held on Jan 29.

Official sources said on Saturday that the online registration for the forthcoming event was continue while a QR code had also been created for the aspirants to get registered through scanning of the code by their mobile phones.

They said that a website link - https://commissionerkarachi.gos.pk/marathon-registration - had been established for the online registration by the Karachi Commissioner Office.

Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon, who held a meeting to review the arrangements for the marathon at his office, hoped that people from all ages be it the youth, elderly people, men and women, would participate in large numbers to make the positive and healthy event a great success.

The meeting was attended among others by the officials of the district administration (South), Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) secretary, representatives of sports organisations and members of the technical committee formed for the 4th Commissioner Karachi Marathon.

The meeting was informed that over 2,500 participants had got registered through the online link and QR code.

SOA Secretary Ahmed Ali Rajput told the meeting that a team, comprising 170 technical volunteers, had been formed to look after the event and ensure that the participants followed the procedure of the marathon.
