Over 1,000 Covid-19 cases emerge, 17 die from virus overnight, says CM.

KARACHI -- As many as 1,098 cases of Covid-19 were detected after conducting 6,458 tests while 17 more patients died overnight raising the tally of cases to 75,168 and death toll to 1,178, said Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued from CM House on Thursday.

He said that 6,458 samples were tested which diagnosed 1,098 cases, constituting 17 per cent of the result. 'So far, 409,145 tests have been conducted and 75,168 cases detected all over Sindh, with overall detection rate reaching 18.3 per cent,' he said.

The CM said that 17 more patients died while fighting the virus. The death toll from the coronavirus had reacted 1,178 that constituted 1.5pc, he said.

According to Mr Shah, at present 33,131 patients are under treatment, of them 31,665 are in home isolation, 78 at isolation centres and 1,388 at different hospitals. Currently, 641 patients were in critical condition...
