Oil tanker overturns; driver killed.

TOBA TEK SINGH -- The driver of an oil tanker was killed and his associate critically injured after the vehicle overturned in the wee hours of Sunday on the motorway's Lahore-Abdul Hakim section near Pirmahal interchange.

Rescue 1122 reported that the oil tanker was carrying 48,000 litres of petrol from Karachi for a private oil company depot in Machike, Sheikhupura. When it was five kilometres away from Pirmahal, the driver allegedly felt drowsy and lost control over the tanker due to which it overturned and fell into a deep ditch on the roadside.

Drivers Moman Khan and Noor Muhammad, both belonging to Lakki Marwat, were seriously wounded. They were rushed tothe DHQ hospital where Khan succumbed to his injuries, while Muhammad's condition was stated to be critical.
